Skate & BMX League

NWSL2010poster

The North Western Skate & BMX  League

NSWBL will see some more shredding from some of Melbourne's finest skaters this Saturday at Gaffney St in Coburg (it's skate only this weekend).

One of our finest, Dimitri Lagoutaris, pulled off a blistering 3rd in the Deer Park round even though he only skated one of the two heats. Expect him to dominate this weekend (if he makes it on time haha).

Here's a link to the Google Map for directions. Get there by 1pm to register and make sure you're there by 1.15pm to check out the action.

Viva Prahran

Viva Prahran Cancelled

The Viva Prahran festival was cancelled thanks to the regularly shit Melbourne weather.

Stonnington City Council pulled the pin late Thursday afternoon and their forecast was spot-on as rain dominated the Saturday.

Stay tuned for a hopeful re-schedule.

Darren McDonald

Darren is one of our best friends and also one of the most insanely talented people we know.

His work speaks for himself. In his recent interview on Pedestrian.TV Darren elaborates on how he came into photography (interesting, seeing as though I started at law school with him in 2002). See his work in action at his blog & website. Here is a sample from his gallery project Rebirth, which you can check out in full here.

Pia Robinson

Pia is a talented Brisbane artist that we've known for a long time. Her first solo exhibition is Last Dream, Lost Memory is a tangible and long-lasting impressions of some of the world's great cities, shot in black and white film and exposed as poignant gliches. Delicate and haunting, Pia's work demonstrates her control over the analog medium and fascination with the feelings found in combining images, thoughts and expressions. Visit her website for more of her work. Last Dream, Lost Memory continues at 62 Robertson gallery until late November.
